The PastAll Saints has always had a very positive attitude to the University and to students. For many years we were pleased to host ‘College Sunday’ a grand occasion when academics and students processed through the streets to hear a sermon from a national figure at the parish Church. Equally important is the fact that the University and Colleges chaplaincy was started by an assistant minister at the church who was seconded to support students for half his time. The PresentWe are an inclusive and welcoming church. While we hope that everyone who wishes to becomes a fully participative member of the church we also love to see visitors and those who simply want to attend services on their own terms. There is always scope for students to join the church choir or join the band of bell ringers. If you are coming from a church where you are used to taking an active role in services or some other aspect of the life of the church we will be very pleased to see you. But if it is the first time you have ever set foot inside a church you will receive a positive, sincere but not at all overwhelming welcome. The FutureWe all have a lot of future ahead of us. At All Saints we know that God uses the church to help people cope with life’s difficulties. But faith is also a tremendously positive thing – when people believe and trust in God and practice that faith in a realistic and down to earth environment they are changed. Believing and living Christianity transforms us into a new wholeness and generates a fulfilment that is far greater than anything money can buy and which does not end when we die.
